Drew has been wanting a dog for the better part of two years. Tom and I have always had a good excuse why he couldn't have one like "we don't have a big enough yard," "we can't have an indoor dog," "would you rather spend your money on dog food or..." and now we use, "we don't have a fence." But Drew has been persistent and continues to save every bit of money he gets in his "dog fund."
I think we may have found the best solution to our dog problem. There is a dog who lives in the neighborhood who greets us almost every morning. He waits out back for the boys to come play, gets some love and then leaves. It really is perfect for me. No vet bills, no kenneling, no barking, no dog food, no real attachment... When the boys have had their fill, the dog saunters back to his real home (wherever that is).
So for this busy family right now, this is the perfect dog. We call him Buddy.
